Privacy Policy

How IC Hub handles information on iOS and Android.

EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how IC Hub ("the App," "we," "us") handles information on both iOS and Android. IC Hub is developed and maintained by Alterside Interactive Private Limited. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at hello@alterside.io.

Summary

IC Hub is an offline tool for looking up integrated circuit (IC) part numbers and their specifications. The App itself does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. It has no accounts, no sign-in, and no user profiles. The only data leaving your device is generated by the third-party advertising SDK described below, not by IC Hub's own code.

Data We Do Not Collect

IC Hub does not collect or transmit:

  • Your name, email address, or any contact information
  • Location data
  • Photos, camera captures, or microphone audio
  • Contacts, calendar, or other device data
  • Any account or sign-in credentials — the App has none

How the App Works

All IC part-number lookups run against a database bundled inside the App, entirely on your device. No internet connection is required to search, and no search query is ever sent anywhere. Your recent searches and app preferences (theme, language, font size) are stored only in local storage on your device and are never uploaded.

You can clear this locally stored data at any time from within the App (clearing recent searches) or by uninstalling the App.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

IC Hub is supported by ads served through the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob), shown as banner and native ads. Loading and displaying these ads requires an internet connection and involves network calls made by Google, not by IC Hub. Google may collect device and advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads, in accordance with Google's own Privacy Policy and AdMob's data collection practices. You can review or adjust ad personalization in your device's system settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking / Apple Advertising; Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads).

No fullscreen or interstitial ads are shown — only banner and inline native ads, clearly labeled "Ad."

Permissions

The App declares the following device permissions:

Permission Platform Purpose
Internet Android Required solely to load and display ads via Google AdMob. Not used by any other part of the App.
Camera Android & iOS Reserved for an in-development "Scan IC" feature that would let you photograph a chip to auto-fill a search. This feature is currently disabled and not accessible anywhere in the App's user interface. No photo or camera data is captured, stored, or transmitted at this time. This section will be updated if and when the feature is enabled.

Children's Privacy

IC Hub is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your region).

Data Retention and Deletion

Since the App stores data only locally on your device, deleting it is entirely under your control: clear recent searches from within the App, or uninstall the App to remove all locally stored data immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we enable a currently disabled feature (such as Scan IC) or change advertising providers. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
